Seminar with Grandmaster JÜRG ZIEGLER, 9th DAN
The Grandmaster Jürg Ziegler 9th Dan of the WSMH through The Spanish Sin Moo Hapkido Association had an International Seminar of 6 h. the Saturday 7th June 2.008 in the Martial Arts room of the Valencia Polytechnic University.
The Grandmaster Ziegler first 9th Dan of the WSMH and introductory of the SMH in Europe in 1.990 was in Spain in the 2.006 as assistant in the Seminar that the Doju-nim Ji Han Jae had in Valencia, but this has been the first time he made a Seminar of SMH exclusively for the Spanish people. The Spanish pupil waited with interest who was the first Master of the President-founder of the Spanish Sin Moo Hapkido Association, unfortunately the Master Balbastre didn't participate in the Seminar due to a recently ocular surgery that maintains him remote of the Martial Arts during some time.
The A.E.S.M.H. had another participation success with 65 persons that enlarged this event, with the presence of the Grandmaster Rony Dassen 9th Dan of Belgium, Master Herman Mochalin 6th Dan of Latvia, Master Rui Ramunni 4th Dan of Portugal and the Instructors and pupils of the Spanish school Doyang-sal of Barcelona, Kim of Ciudad Real, La Seu of Lleida, Dinamic of Mallorca, Gamonal of Burgos, Reus-Team and Judo-Mora of Tarragona, SinMooKwan, Chongdo, Hankuk-Kyuyul, Koma and Kukkiwon of Valencia.
The course was structured in three parts. The first part of the course, the most extensive, it was dedicated to the work and improvement of the direct attack techniques (30 in total) designed exclusively by the Doju-nim Ji Han Jae for the Sin Moo Hapkido. The denominated direct techniques of attack Son-sul in Sin Moo Hapkido is based in special technics of throwings and lock, direct, surprising and overwhelming, these techniques were explained with all luxury of details (positions,
imbalances, breathing, grab, possible counter techniques, etc...).
In the second we worked the handling of the knife, giving more importance to concepts and tactical instead in concrete techniques. Everybody knows that the defense against knife is an important part in Hapkido, the attack or combat with knife is being forgotten and it usually is not part of the programs of the Hapkido schools, although It is used in the Korean military Hapkido.
According to the Grandaster Ziegler is very important to know and to exercise the variants of attacks, combinations and tactics to be able to have a more advanced knowledge and not to be surprised in its defensive application against a so lethal weapon. The capacity of adaptation of the GM Ziegler to any situation type with knife impressed to the pupils.
The last part of the course was dedicated to the mental work techniques, the techniques of Mukyon through the meditation and the breathing, the Master explained the different meditation methods for the development of the Ki and its direct application to the techniques of Hapkido. Also the projection of the Ki through the Kihap, the training with the 7 different ways of Kihap, the sound vibration of
stimulation of the adrenaline to be used in attack & in defense. The Grandmaster explained the importance of practice these techniques for the perfect balance between body and mind, between external force and internal force, these techniques improve our physical and mental health notably.
During the development of the Course the Grandmaster Ziegler took as sparrings the Black Belts, rectifying at every moment to the pupils which he choose to show the possible errors. One of the things that more was meant by the pupils was the charisma and personality of the G.M. Ziegler the forcefulness and effectiveness of its techniques
were always accompanied of his jokes and sympathy to the pupils.
As final for the Seminar the Grandmaster Ziegler next to the Master Rafael Balbastre delivered the certificates of attendance and they gave as a little present to the Master Ziegler a commemorative badge in gratefulness to his visit and Seminar in Spain.
